All of us have experienced tragedy and difficulties in our lives.  One problem can lead to a major crisis: the loss of your transportation, home, job, divorce, loss of a loved one, even domestic violence. A mental or physical health issue can result in an extended hospital and/or rehabilitation stay. These are just a few of the many reasons that people and their pets need the help of the Whole Families Program (WFP).

People participating in our WFP are facing a major crisis in their life and some of them need us to care for their pets while they resolve the issues in their life that could lead to the surrender of their beloved pet.  People and their pets form a lasting bond and keeping them together is imperative for their physical and mental health.

YOU can keep them together!

We need foster homes located throughout New Jersey that are able to take a pet and care for them for one (1) to six (6) months* until their pet parent is able to take them back.

PFA will provide pet food, supplies, and veterinary care while you provide a loving home and attention.

  • Fostering is a 24/7 responsibility and durations can vary, lasting for months at a time, depending on the animal’s situation. Serious inquiries only, please.

Dogs & Cats in Need of Foster Homes

The urgent need for assistance in our community has reached unprecedented levels, with an alarming rise in families who have lost their homes and are now living in their cars alongside their beloved pets.

Marlo

Marlo is an affectionate 5yo pitmix who is bursting with love and joy! This delightful companion thrives on human interaction, following his dad around and snuggling up at his feet, making him an ideal pet for anyone seeking warmth and connection.

Marlo is in great health, enjoying a balanced diet of Purina Pro Plan dry food to keep his energy up for those long walks he adores.

While he may feel a little nervous around larger dogs and unfamiliar men, gentle introductions can help him feel more at ease, and he has proven to be a gentle and loving friend to children, especially his 8 yo niece, with whom he has built a special bond since puppyhood.

Marlo brings a sense of joy to families, and while he may bark or growl at unknown men, he has never shown aggression towards people or animals. He loves to explore during walks but knows when to take a break after 2 miles, and while he may get a bit excited at the door, his eagerness to engage with the world is truly heartwarming.

Consider opening your heart and home to Marlo; he’s ready to fill your days with love and laughter until his dad secures them a stable home!
