One of the best parts of our forty-year-plus history is watching our animal patients grow up, wrapped in love from their families! We were thrilled to get an update on Rhonda and Raquel, two kitty sisters who are still going strong and entering their second decade together with their proud papa, Dane:

“They were spayed as kittens; you guys got them off to a great start! When they were at PFA, I was told that staff kept coming in and visiting them; they were popular! Their personalities are as cute and interesting as their physical appearance.

I have rescued many feral cats who I couldn’t adopt out, because most people want a friendly, snuggly cat; some of them became friendly and snuggly… eventually. Raquel and Rhonda are the most easily-adoptable cats I’ve ever had. There was someone who really wanted them, but from the time I met them, there was a special bond between us, noticed even by others. I selfishly – for my sake and theirs – kept them and have never regretted my decision. I believe God brought the three of us together.

About six months ago, Raquel was diagnosed with numerous serious health issues, and I was advised by an ER vet to euthanize her. I kept her comfortable at home for a few days, then tried to make an appointment to have her euthanized. No one could fit her in, and in a few more days, she began to gradually eat. I’m thankful I couldn’t get an appointment, because six months later, she’s doing great!”
